Joinery
All Oak frames are first laid out on the ground for each elevation of the building. Each piece of timber is carefully marked to the timbers below. This will ensure each mortise and tenon joint fit tightly in the frame. All joints are pulled together and secured with oak pegs. As the frame ages all the joints gain strength as the green oak dries. As the frame matures the timbers will move slightly but this adds to the character and beauty of the frame.
